Tom Cole, Chief Operations Officer, reviewed the progress on three primary short-term goals relative to the feasibility on the Hybrid Site for Castaic area high school.
- Goal # 1 is to complete and circulate a revised Notice of Preparation (NOP) and Initial Study by January 2012.This goal has been completed by circulating a revised NOP and Initial Study on January 27, 2012; the comment period expires on February 28, 2012.
- Goal # 2 is to complete due diligence and an environmental analysis on the Hybrid Site and report back to the Board in March 2012. In addition, the biological resources assessment is 99 percent complete, the cultural resources assessment is 100 percent complete, the initial site engineer concept site plans are complete, the initial geotechnical work is nearly complete, and to date staff is not aware of any serious red flag warnings concerning feasibility of the Hybrid Site. Mr. Cole stated that the completion of the due diligence analysis is scheduled for March 2012.
- Goal # 3 is to circulate a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on Castaic area high school in early summer 2012 and certify the same EIR by the end of summer 2012; this goal is on track.
